what would happen if?

What would happen if…
We only said what Jesus would say about people? What if, before speaking about someone, whether to their face or behind their back, we paused and asked, “Is this what Jesus would say about them?” That simple filter could completely change the tone of our conversations, our relationships, and even the culture around us.
Jesus spoke words of truth, but always with love. He called out the best in people, even when they couldn’t see it themselves. To the woman caught in adultery, He said, “Neither do I condemn you.” To Peter, who would deny Him, He said, “You are the rock.” When others saw brokenness, Jesus spoke identity, value, and purpose.
If we only said what Jesus would say, gossip would disappear. Criticism would turn into encouragement. Instead of tearing people down, we’d be building them up. We’d speak life over others, calling out their God-given worth and reminding them they are deeply loved.
This kind of speech doesn’t ignore flaws, it sees them through the lens of redemption. It’s honest, but full of hope.
Imagine homes, workplaces, and churches filled with that kind of language. We’d create a culture where people don’t just feel tolerated, they feel truly seen, known, and loved. Just like Jesus sees them.

what to do when you doubt

Overcoming Doubt in Your Christian Walk
Doubt is a natural part of the Christian journey. Even the strongest believers wrestle with questions and uncertainties about God, faith, and life. The key isn’t to eliminate doubt altogether, that’s often impossible, but to learn how to move forward in faith despite it.
One of the first steps in overcoming doubt is bringing it honestly before God. The Bible shows us that figures like Thomas, David, and even the Apostle Paul experienced doubt, yet they brought their struggles into relationship with God. Prayer is our lifeline, sharing our fears and questions with God opens the door for Him to reveal His truth and peace.

Next, immerse yourself in Scripture. The Bible is filled with promises, testimonies, and wisdom that can anchor your faith when doubts arise. Meditating on verses about God’s faithfulness and love helps counter the lies doubt whispers. Surrounding yourself with a community of believers also matters. They can encourage you, share their own struggles, and remind you of God’s work in their lives.

Finally, remember that faith often grows through the tension of doubt, not despite it.
Doubt can push you to seek deeper understanding, ask better questions, and develop a more resilient faith. Trust doesn’t mean having all the answers. It means trusting God even when answers are unclear.
Overcoming doubt is a journey, not a one-time fix. With God’s grace and the support of His people, doubt can become a doorway to deeper faith rather than a barrier to it.

why reading the bible changes lives

Why Reading the Bible Changes Lives
The Bible isn’t just an ancient book. It’s a living, powerful message that transforms lives in real and lasting ways. Reading Scripture changes us because it reveals God’s heart, our true condition, and the hope found in Jesus.
First, the Bible speaks directly to our deepest needs. It exposes our struggles, fears, and sins, but it doesn’t leave us there. Instead, it offers grace, forgiveness, and the promise of new life. As Hebrews 4:12 says, “The word of God is alive and active, sharper than any double-edged sword.” When we engage with Scripture, it cuts through excuses and lies, revealing truth that leads to freedom.
Second, the Bible provides wisdom for everyday life. From relationships to purpose, from suffering to joy, Scripture guides us in how to live well. It gives perspective beyond the immediate moment, reminding us of God’s eternal plan. This guidance shapes our character and decisions, helping us grow into the people God created us to be.
Third, reading the Bible connects us with God Himself. It’s how He speaks to us today. Through His Word, we learn His promises, His love, and His plans. This relationship fuels faith and hope, especially in difficult times.
Finally, the Bible inspires action. It calls us to love others, serve the needy, forgive, and live out our faith boldly. Lives changed by the Bible don’t just find comfort, they find purpose.
In a world full of noise and confusion, reading the Bible offers clarity, transformation, and life. It changes hearts, and through those hearts, it changes the world.

What would happen if…
We tried to see people the way Jesus sees them? Imagine if, just for one day, we chose to see people the way Jesus sees them, with unconditional love, grace, and deep compassion. It would radically shift how we treat others. Judgment would fade, and empathy would rise. Instead of labeling people by their mistakes or appearances, we would see their inherent worth and potential.
Jesus looked beyond surface behaviors and saw the heart. He saw the broken and offered healing, the outcast and gave belonging, the sinner and extended forgiveness. If we did the same, our relationships would transform. We would listen more and condemn less. We would serve more and expect less in return.
Seeing people this way does not mean ignoring wrongdoing. It means confronting it with truth and love. It is justice wrapped in mercy. It is choosing to believe the best in someone, even when they cannot see it in themselves.
In a world quick to cancel, divide, and criticize, this perspective could be revolutionary. It invites us to respond not with pride, but with humility, not with fear, but with grace.
What would happen if we tried this daily? We might just create communities marked by healing, reconciliation, and love, the kind of world Jesus envisioned all along. What would happen if...

What would happen if…
What would happen if instead of trying to relive the past or spending time thinking about how things used to be that we concentrate on what is happening now? While there is no doubt that there have been many good things that have happened in the past, that does not mean that all of the good things are gone. If we are only thinking about how things use to be, we are in danger of missing out on what is happening now. If we look close enough we will see that there are a lot of good things happening in our lives. There may have been people in the past who are no longer here. However, there are probably people in the present who were not there in the past. These people have come into your life for the present time to make it what it is. What would happen if…

never underestimate the power of prayer

The Power of Prayer in Difficult Times.
Difficult times have a way of shaking us, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Whether it’s personal loss, illness, anxiety, or a season of deep uncertainty, we often come to the end of ourselves and realize how little we can truly control. But it’s in those very moments that prayer becomes not just a spiritual practice, but a lifeline.
Prayer in hard times doesn’t always change our circumstances immediately, but it always changes us. It lifts our eyes from fear to faith, from the chaos around us to the presence of God within us. Through prayer, we remember we’re not alone. We connect with the One who is sovereign, compassionate, and near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18).
There is power in simply crying out to God with honesty. Prayer isn’t about perfect words. It’s about real surrender. It invites God into the pain and invites His peace into our hearts. Sometimes He calms the storm. Sometimes He calms us in the storm.
Difficult seasons may stretch our faith, but they can also deepen it. When we pray in the valley, we find strength we didn’t know we had, not because we’re strong, but because He is.
Never underestimate the power of a whispered prayer in the middle of the night. Heaven hears. And help is on the way.

What would happen if we determined that we were going to intentionally work on listening to people when they talk to us?  That is, really listen. All of us are kind of listening when people talk to us. However, if we are not careful we find ourselves so preoccupied with other things that we do not take the time to really listen. Really listening means that the person talking has our undivided attention. We are not thinking about anything else other than what they are saying to us. However, more times than not, this does not happen and we find ourselves not paying attention as we should.
One way that this occurs is when the person is talking and we are thinking about what we want to say or what our answer will be. We are not really listening. We are simply waiting for our opportunity to talk. We can hardly wait for them to finish speaking so that we can say what is on our mind. Or, if you are like me, you sometimes interrupt them before they are finished because I just have to say what I am thinking. Of course that is rude but it also suggests that I am really not interested in what they are saying and that I am more interested in being heard. It is also arrogant because it says that I think that what they are saying is not worth my time to listen to it, and what I have to say is more important. Of course, when I am speaking, I expect them to do what I did not do, listen.
A truly good listener is concerned with what the person they are listening to has to say. We must give them the time to finish what is on their mind. If we show that we are truly interested it will make a difference in their wanting to listen to our response. If we cut them off or become impatient at what they are saying, then they will be less likely to want to listen to us. What a difference this would make in all of our conversations if each of us really listened to the other person. I believe it would save a lot of confusion and perhaps hurt feelings and arguments. Many problems and misunderstandings could be settled or prevented if we would only listen. What would happen if…

how to walk by faith

What Does It Mean to “Walk by Faith”?

“Walk by faith, not by sight.” It’s a familiar verse (2 Corinthians 5:7), but what does it really mean to live that way?

To walk by faith means trusting God even when you can’t see the outcome. It’s choosing to believe His promises, follow His Word, and rely on His character, especially when circumstances don’t make sense. It’s about living each day confident that God is in control, even when life feels uncertain or difficult.

Walking by faith is not blind optimism. It’s not pretending everything is fine or ignoring reality. Instead, it’s acknowledging your limitations while trusting in God’s unlimited power. It’s saying, “I don’t know how, but I trust Who does.”

This kind of faith requires surrender. It means letting go of the need to control every detail and instead asking God for direction, then taking the next step, even if it feels small or risky. Sometimes it looks like forgiving when you want to hold a grudge, giving when it’s uncomfortable, or obeying when you don’t understand.

Walking by faith also means staying grounded in God’s Word, praying continually, and surrounding yourself with others who encourage and challenge your faith.

Ultimately, to walk by faith is to live with your eyes on Jesus, not your circumstances. It’s a daily journey of trust, obedience, and dependence, knowing that even when the path is unclear, God is already ahead of you, guiding every step.

When we walk by faith, we live with purpose, peace, and boldness, because we know we’re not walking alone.

how to strengthen your faith

How to Strengthen Your Faith Daily
Faith is like a muscle, the more you exercise it, the stronger it becomes. But in the busyness and challenges of life, it’s easy for our faith to feel weak or distant. The good news is that with intentional habits, you can strengthen your faith every single day.
1. Start with Scripture
The Bible is God’s primary way of speaking to us. Make it a daily practice to read, meditate on, and memorize Scripture. Even a few verses each day can transform your thinking and align your heart with God’s truth. Consider using a devotional or Bible reading plan to guide you.
2. Pray Consistently
Prayer is your direct line to God. It’s how you communicate, share your heart, and listen for His guidance. Make prayer a daily rhythm, morning, midday, or night, whatever fits your schedule. Be honest with God about your doubts, fears, and hopes. Prayer nurtures intimacy with Him and builds trust.
3. Surround Yourself with Community
Faith grows best in the context of relationships. Engage regularly with family, a church, small group, or trusted friends who encourage your spiritual journey. Sharing struggles and victories with others strengthens your faith and keeps you accountable.
4. Practice Gratitude and Worship
Thankfulness shifts your focus from problems to God’s faithfulness. Begin or end your day by listing things you’re grateful for. Worship, whether through music, nature, or reflection, reminds you of God’s greatness and love.
5. Serve Others
Faith comes alive when it moves into action. Serving your community or church puts love into practice and deepens your trust in God’s plan.
Strengthening your faith daily isn’t about perfection, it’s about persistence. Small, consistent steps invite God’s power to grow within you, equipping you for every season of life.

What would happen if…
What would happen if we actually prayed for everyone we said we were going to pray for? We often talk to people and say to them, I will be praying for you. But how many times do we then go on our way and forget to follow up on that promise? Or, if we do remember to pray for them, it is only once and then we forget to continue to pray for them.
I am sure that our intentions are good. However, we all would have to admit that we do not always follow through. But what a difference it would make if we did. It takes being intentional. If I tell someone that I am going to pray for them, I need to hold myself accountable to do just that. In addition to it obviously being a good thing to pray for them, I would also be keeping my promise.
Many times we say things because that seems likes the right thing to say. But it is a commitment that we are making to them that we will indeed be praying for them. Good words and good intentions are not enough. It does not replace the actual prayers that need to be going up on their behalf.
If we need to write it down, perhaps that would be a good plan. Maybe we should stop what we are doing and pray for them right then. Whatever the case, what would happen if we actually followed through on our promises to pray, is that there would be many more prayers heading to heaven and more promises being kept.
