​What would happen if…
What would happen if we actually prayed for everyone we said we were going to pray for? We often talk to people and say to them, I will be praying for you. But how many times do we then go on our way and forget to follow up on that promise? Or, if we do remember to pray for them, it is only once and then we forget to continue to pray for them.
            I am sure that our intentions are good. However, we all would have to admit that we do not always follow through. But what a difference it would make if we did. It takes being intentional. If I tell someone that I am going to pray for them, I need to hold myself accountable to do just that. In addition to it obviously being a good thing to pray for them, I would also be keeping my promise.
            Many times we say things because that seems likes the right thing to say. But it is a commitment that we are making to them that we will indeed be praying for them. Good words and good intentions are not enough. It does not replace the actual prayers that need to be going up on their behalf.
            If we need to write it down, perhaps that would be a good plan. Maybe we should stop what we are doing and pray for them right then. Whatever the case, what would happen if we actually followed through on our promises to pray, is that there would be many more prayers heading to heaven and more promises being kept.
